Ductless mini splits and crossover systems

Efficient heating and cooling for additions, shops, basements, rentals and homes without ductwork. We install Heil and Hisense mini splits and crossover systems.

Comfort where the ductwork doesn't reach

A ductless mini split has a compact outdoor unit and one or more indoor heads connected by a small refrigerant line. There’s no ductwork to run, so installs are quick and clean, and each room or zone gets its own temperature control.

They’re a great fit for garages and shops, bonus rooms and additions, finished basements, rentals, older homes heated with baseboard or boilers, and any room that’s always too hot or too cold.

Already have ducts? A crossover system brings the same inverter-driven outdoor unit to your existing furnace or air handler, so the whole house gets the benefit through the registers you already have.

Ductless services

Both brands carry a 10-year parts limited warranty when registered, and Hisense offers optional extended labor coverage. Compare warranties.

Common questions

Yes. Cold climate mini splits keep heating well below zero, which makes them a good choice for an insulated shop or garage that you also want cooled in summer. For a big, drafty shop that only needs heat, a Modine unit heater may be the better fit. We’ll help you choose.

A mini split delivers air through wall, ceiling or floor heads with no ductwork. A crossover uses similar inverter outdoor equipment but connects to a furnace or air handler and sends air through your existing ducts.

It depends on your layout and how you use the space. One head can cover an open area, while closed rooms usually need their own. We’ll measure and recommend during a free estimate.

Rinse the indoor filters every month or two during heavy use, keep snow and debris clear of the outdoor unit, and have it professionally cleaned and checked once a year.
